Affordable Family Vacation Spots in the U.S.

We may only be in the middle of winter, but it’s never too early to start planning your family vacation! In fact, daydreaming about getting away is the perfect solution for escaping those winter doldrums. Of course, you have a few things to consider. Location, for starters. Also, how much are you thinking about spending? Well, if you’re on a budget but still want to have great family fun, you can very well do that! Here are some places you can go on a budget:

1. Yosemite National Park

Located in California Yosemite National Park provides a beautiful view for only $20 per car for a full week. Moreover, if you go in the off-season time you can expect for the rooms to drop down from $200/night to $40-$60/night! Take a road trip to California and enjoy the lovely warm, sunny weather.

2. Niagara Falls

How could you say no to this? Niagara Falls remains as one of the most visited places in the world. It is after all one of the Seven Natural Wonders. Located between New York Falls, U.S. and Ontario, Canada its definitely something remarkable to see. To see the Falls, it’s always free, however. The hotels might change rate depending on the time of year. We recommend going during winter, when prices are at their lowest.

3. National Mall, Washington

Visiting your country’s capital should always be fun! Book a flight or take a road trip to Washington D.C. Walk around and you’ll find much to do and look at, most of which are probably free. That’s one of the greatest things about D.C. is that a lot of what you’ll see has no cost, and it’s out there for the public to see. The Washington monument can be seen from anywhere, so feel free to take pics from up-close or far away. Either one looks great!

4. Mount Rushmore

Located in South Dakota, Mount Rushmore is an amazing sight to look at. Showcasing the faces of the former U.S. Presidents; George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, respectively. It’s something all tourist must see, and U.S. citizen as well. As far as hotels go, we recommend going late May when hotels prices are low. If you’re on a road trip we recommend stoping by and moving on, since well there’s so much more to see!

5. New Orleans

End your vacation with a bang! New Orleans is a great city to travel to, with multiple options of hotels to stay in. If you’re all about relaxing, then don’t worry you will surely find many restaurants or lounges where you can do just that. Feel like hitting the town? We recommend Bourbon street, for the night owls. If you’re more of the nature person kind of family then there’s several hiking trails, natural preserves, and parks you can go to. The options are many!

Well, dear reader this is where we end our post. Hopefully it has given you some ideas as to where you could go for a spontaneous family adventure, or if you feel like going on a budgeted family vacation. These places will surely leave you wanting more!

Safe travels!
